I was so lucky to attend the very first Rehoboth Vegfest! The day was bright and sunny with typical strong breezes that result from being not too far from the local beaches.
While the event was a bit smaller than some other vegfests I have attended, the enthusiasm of the attendees, speakers, and volunteers was plentiful.
There were wonderful samples and plenty of yummy local vendors to buy food from. My personal favorite was my chocolate chocolate chip cupcake from Cake Break. (You know me—gotta get my chocolate fix!) Sadly, I did not take any photos of the food. I know! What was I thinking?! Clearly, I wasn’t!
I know most of the time, people are most excited by the food at vegfests. However, I was looking forward mostly to the speakers.
At this point in my vegan life, the speakers are the most exciting part of the event for me personally. I draw so much inspiration from hearing about their experiences, activism, and passion for living a life dedicated to eating a plant-based diet. Their enthusiasm was contagious and on numerous occasions, I found myself clapping and nodding my head in agreement with their talking points. I wish I could have thanked each of them individually for their words and wisdom. Maybe they will stumble upon this blog and learn of my appreciation, maybe not. Nonetheless, I thank each one of them for being a part of what will hopefully be the beginnings of recurring event.
Special thanks to VegRehoboth.com and Compassion Over Killing for organizing this event!

Love your enthusiasm for the speaking and not just eating lots of food – really helps others such as myself keep hope for a more open-minded ‘S.A.Diet’ in the future
